INTEGRITY MATTERS

BIG NEWS.png

FROM MY OPPONENT: “It’s not only about local experience, but legislative experience in Harrisburg, being able to work across the aisle, something I’ve done that he [Swarr] has never done.”   (Lancaster Independence Newspaper , May 6, 2026).

My opponent touted his own experience as a short term Township Supervisor when he ran to be a State Representative but for me that experience doesn't count?

As a township official for more than 30 years I often negotiated across the miles & across the aisle.  We all were involved in dealing with the state, the county and sometimes even the Federal Government.

This kind of comment dismisses the important work our elected local officials do to help give us a better quality of life.  Plus we do it for the bargain price of a mimimal stipend (Supervisors $2500 a year) as opposed to  the $100,000 salary of a State Representative

A MESSAGE TO YOU FROM JERE

Hello everyone:

The first question most people ask me, when they meet me, is why are you running?  I answer them with a short direct answer - "somebody had to do something".

Last year a special election was held to fill this very seat.  It was considered a "Republican" seat that the local party expressed confidence in keeping, after all they had held it for several decades.  That isn't what happened though.

Behind the scenes a number of Republicans expressed concern about the Republican candidate who was running & his ability to win the election.  For those who questioned the county Republican Party there was ridicule.

In the end that Republican candidate lost both the election & the seat.  The county Republican Party blamed everyone but the candidate or themselves despite evidence to the contrary.  The loss made nationwide news.

You'd think they'd learn.  Unfortunately, they didn't.

It's happening all over again, same strategy, a candidate heavily connected to the previous candidate who lost last year & an election that is favored to be won by the Democrats again.

Somebody had to do something.

The time has come when the party must take responsibility for this devastating loss and change course.  I stepped forward because I want to be that change.

We must win this seat not just for Lancaster County Republicans, but for the State Republican Party.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments.
