MEET JERE SWARR

A lifelong resident of not just Lancaster County, but also Rapho Township, Jere Swarr along with his 2 siblings Tim & Freda was born & raised on their family farm.  His family are 8th Generation Lancastrians.

Freda Swarr

As the oldest child Jere worked side by side with his father to rebuild & redevelop the farm which had been in poor shape when originally purchased.

​

In addition, Jere & his brother Tim helped their mother, as they were able, with her volunteer work for the Downs Syndrome Community in support of their sister Freda.

As the years went by it became clear

that Jere was a natural born farmer. 

He dedicated himself to learning every

single aspect of farming.  

​

Jere was just 24 when he bought the family farm from the estate after his father, mother and sister all passed within a short time of each other.  His goal was to provide a safe and stable home and income for himself and Tim.

​

It would become the home where

his own children, sons Tyler & Eric,

were raised.​

​

Today Rapho Valley Farm is a stunning property still farmed by family members.

For 44 years Jere farmed & learned everything he could about the business.  He became heavily involved in various organizations & served on numerous boards & commissions including as an elected  Rapho Township Supervisor of over 30 years.  

​

From the time he was a teenager, Jere had another passion--Motocross Racing.  He built a track at the farm where he & his friends could ride.  His dream was to one day own a full scale Motocross Track.  ​​​​​
